According to Sankei News,  a 25 year old Japanese man has been arrested on suspicion for threatening to kill two Nintendo executives and planning to bomb Nintendo HQ. He apparently sent the death threats on May 20th via Nintendo’s online inquiry form. He named both executives, but their names have remained anonymous. In his message his said he was going to kill them “sooner or later”.

He was arrested this morning by the Kyoto police and admitted to his actions. He also according to the police wrote other threats on the site one of them which stated:

I’d planted bombs at Nintendo headquarters, tomorrow afternoon they’re going to blow up, Nintendo go bankrupt.

Police are currently investigating other threats from September which could be connected. Let’s hope that everything goes fine and Nintendo remains safe as this could be a huge setback if it were to happen.

Wii And Wii U Only Account For About 1% Of EA’s Sales

eaEA has confirmed that the Wii and Wii U combined together only account for a tiny 1.3% of their software revenues in the last financial quarter.  They stated in their latest financial report that $695 million was earned from combined sales of console, mobile and PC software while $9 million came from Wii and Wii U sales. This is just another sign of how poorly the Wii U is currently doing.

  • Handhelds (Nintendo and Sony combined) account for 14 per cent of all EA mobile sales.
  • Nintendo handhelds account for 6 per cent of mobile sales, while Sony handhelds account for 8 per cent.
  • Despite its emphasis on mobile gaming, EA’s home console game sales still account for $309 million compared to $75 million mobile sales (though production costs are typically much lower on mobile titles, meaning the potential for profit is higher).
  • PC software earns EA more money than any other format, accounting for 39.4% of all software sales

The Male Wii Fit Trainer has been revealed to be a playable character in the new upcoming title in the Smash Bros series. It is currently believed that the male version of the Wii Fit Trainer is a costume swap for the female trainer, sort of like how Wario had 2 different versions of his costume in Smash Bros Brawl.  Head over to the Smash Bros official site to view other screenshots of the game.
